Our Institute uses a combination of experimental approaches such as cell biology, molecular biology and microscopy to understand how hypoxia, reactive oxygen species and calcium ions affect physiological and pathophysiological processes.
Concretely the project comprises generation of genetically engineered mice to characterize the role of redox signalling in cardiac (dys)function. The successful candidate will work in the Institute of Cardiovascular Physiology on the topic “Redox-mediated signaling in the heart”. The main aims of the project include:
Requirements are a graduate degree in natural sciences or medicine and a qualified doctorate, as well as relevant experience in the field of redox biology. Experience with transgenic mouse models and animal disease models are desirable. The applicant must have team spirit, self-motivation and interest in the processing of scientific questions.
The regular weekly working time is the one of a full-time employee. The activity involves a teaching obligation of four teaching hours in the field of physiology in the courses for Human/Dental and Molecular Medicine students.
